  • Apple grower elected as new president of Foreign Agricultural Resource Management Service

    Apple grower Robert Shuh is the new president of the organization that manages the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) in Ontario. He was elected as president of Foreign Agricultural Resource Management Service (FARMS) at the organization’s recent annual meeting and takes over from outgoing president Ken Forth.

  • Board chair, vice chair at Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Growers’ Association re-elected

    The leadership of the Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Growers’ Association (OFVGA) will remain unchanged for another year. Shawn Brenn was re-elected as the organization’s chair and Mike Chromczak was re-elected as vice chair at a board meeting following the organization’s annual general meeting in Niagara Falls this week.

The sector includes more than 3,500 family farms, which support over 30,000 farm-based, non-family jobs in Ontario. Over 125 different fruit and vegetable crops are grown in Ontario.
